REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION

CRA, Inc supported the United States Department of Homeland Security/Office of Grants and Training (USDHS/G&T) in the Republican National Convention (RNC) Exercise Series. This National Special Security Event was designed to demonstrate the employment of effectively synchronized Federal, State, local, and private-sector assets in response to simulated (yet plausible) terrorist attacks or other critical incidents that might occur during the RNC.  In planning this series, CRA designed the seminars/exercises to be concurrent with real-time needs or functions. The exercise was divided into three parts:  an initial senior leaders' seminar conducted on February 3, 2004, a subsequent tabletop exercise for operational personnel conducted on April 28, 2004, and a command post exercise held on August 10, 2004.  CRA-USA's approach enabled exercise participants to better contribute to a security and operational planning process that would have resulted in improved response to critical incidents had they occurred during the RNC.
